The new Tesla Roadster can fly!

After the armored Cybertruck, here comes the flying Tesla. At least, that’s what Elon Musk claims, never short on surprises.

The new Tesla Roadster has been the subject of numerous rumors since the American manufacturer first teased the car a few years ago. After Musk revealed SpaceX’s involvement a few months ago, some naturally speculated about a potential flying car, but no one expected this to be a credible hypothesis!

In a message on X Saturday morning, Musk stated that the “new Tesla Roadster can fly,” although he did not disclose any other details regarding its flight duration, altitude, or simply when this would be possible!

Admittedly, Musk has become famous for his sometimes overly ambitious off-the-cuff statements. But the visionary often gets us accustomed to unveiling crazy concepts that have indeed materialized, even if their timelines have almost always been delayed. It’s easier to master ideas than a schedule. So how could a collaboration with SpaceX on the new generation Tesla Roadster make it a flying car?

Musk previously stated that the Roadster could use a SpaceX thruster system to break the insane barrier of less than one second to go from 0 to 100 km/h. What if these thrusters could also keep the Roadster hovering?

Another possibility is that this statement could be a false friend, as the verb “fly” is often used in all languages of the world to refer to a car that goes very fast! As usual with Musk, let’s wait for the next episode.
