Already -13% (-€6000) on the new Peugeot 3008 hybrid

What is the shelf life of a car? That of a yogurt or a container of strawberries? Barely launched, the new Peugeot 3008 is already displaying XXL discounts. -13% without even trying to negotiate, that’s eye-catching. Because this discount amounts immediately to 6000 euros!

It is not easy to navigate the online prices of brands within the Stellantis group. As often explained on Mobiwisy.fr, Peugeot as well as Citroën, Fiat, Opel, etc., are engaged in an internal war with dealerships.

This is a political choice by CEO Carlos Tavares, who no longer wants to “pay the salesperson,” as he puts it. He sells cars online just as Apple does with its iPhones, etc. Consequently, the prices displayed here and there differ. On the Peugeot Store, it is noted that the list price of the Peugeot 3008 Hybrid 136 Allure is 38,490 euros… but it is immediately discounted to 37,730 euros online. Better yet, a promo code allows for an additional 500 euros off, bringing the starting price down to just 37,230 euros!

Dealers are therefore going even further, with no choice! This is the case with this example found costing 42,990 euros with its options. With the 13% discount, it thus falls to 36,990 euros! However, this will still require adding the 660 euros for the 2024 ecological penalty.

However, this internal war sends a strange message: that new Peugeots don’t sell without a gift of 6000 euros. What will happen in 4 to 5 years when the novelty factor has worn off, and thermal engines (even hybrids) will be even less popular?
