What do rillettes from Le Mans and the Renault 5 have in common?

The Renault 5 E-Tech electric is the first 100% electric vehicle to receive the “Origin France Guarantee” certification.

This certification “Origin France Guarantee” is awarded by Bureau Veritas to products whose final assembly is carried out in France and for which at least 50% of the unit manufacturing cost of the product and its essential characteristics are sourced in France, which is the case for the new 100% electric Renault 5. The share of value produced in France for the Renault 5 E-Tech electric reaches 69%.

The Renault 5 E-Tech electric is the first vehicle fully designed on the AmpR Small, the new Ampere platform dedicated to electric vehicles in the B segment. It is produced in the historic Douai factory, one of the three sites of the Ampere ElectriCity Pole.

ElectriCity is one of the most significant and competitive electric vehicle production hubs in Europe. Located in Hauts-de-France, it offers a unique local ecosystem with 75% of suppliers located within a 300-kilometer radius, enabling short circuit production. ElectriCity is part of the development of a genuine European “electric valley,” specializing in the electric vehicle value chain.

In its 50 years of history, over 10 million vehicles and 22 different models have rolled off the production lines of the Douai Manufacturing site. Currently, the site manufactures Megane E-Tech electric, Scénic E-Tech electric, and R5 E-Tech electric for the Renault brand.
