From Euro 2024 to Goodwood, BYD is on all fronts

Although BYD is the world’s leading manufacturer of electrified vehicles, its recognition in Europe is almost nonexistent. So communication is essential!

If you’ve been following the Euro 2024 football tournament for a month now, you can’t have missed the ubiquitous BYD logos around the fields. A significant media offensive that must be costly given the exposure! Besides these banners, BYD is the official vehicle supplier for Euro 2024, allowing the organizers to boast about hosting the most sustainable European Championship to date. A win-win situation, in short.

On the other side of the Channel, the Festival of Speed has set up its tents at Goodwood. A reference automotive meeting, it’s “the place to be” for any manufacturer seeking recognition. Although European for less than two years, BYD is now at its… third Festival of Speed! The champagne and glitter atmosphere of Sussex is perfect for building a positive image, and it’s the opportunity to mingle on equal footing with the world’s top manufacturers! Unlike the previous edition, BYD didn’t have much new to showcase. The only real novelty was the BYD Seal U SUV which has just started its marketing in Europe. However, it was an opportunity for the Chinese manufacturer to confirm the upcoming arrival of Denza in Europe with the D9.

BYD puts on a show

But the real attraction was of course the two devilish models from Yangwang. How could you imagine something more different than the U8 and U9? On one side is the U8, an ultra-performance off-road SUV equipped with four electric motors and a 2.0-liter turbo engine as a range extender. A fun fact, this model weighing nearly 3 tons can swim! The U9 is an electric hypercar capable of devouring 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.36 seconds. With its carbon chassis and active suspension, it can rival the fiercest Ferraris, Porsches, and Lamborghinis for a third of their price! It is indeed marketed starting at 215,000 euros in China.
