The day Snoop Dog asked Elon Musk for a free Tesla

Beyond his passion for the Olympic Games and Team USA, Snoop Dog is a big car enthusiast. And he has nothing against Teslas.

In April 2022, Snoop Dog posted a video directly addressed to Elon Musk making a rather special request:

“This is a message for Elon Musk. Nephew (sic) I need a Tesla! When your guys came to my concert, they told me you were going to give me one. I’m still waiting… Should I buy one? Or are you going to send me one? It’s Snoop Dog Bro, your move, make it happen!” SNOOP DOG

It’s easy to imagine the Tesla executives thrilled to meet the famous rapper and promising him that their boss would be more than happy to gift him a car! It would be amusing to know if they have been identified and if they are still part of the American automaker’s team.

While his tastes lean more towards lowrider Cadillacs or overpowered Mustangs, Snoop Dog is not immune to the charms of 100% electric cars since he already owns a Tesla after purchasing a white Model X SUV in 2017. No one can blame him for trying to get a new one as a gift. A good PR move for Tesla at a low price is certainly something that shouldn’t be turned down. Well, yes!

After being silent for 2 years, Elon Musk came across a message on February 11, 2024, reminding him of the request and promptly responded soberly:

“Everyone pays the retail price for a Tesla, including me.” Elon Musk

Case closed and a firm refusal for the Rap icon. That must sting a little but it’s very funny. So let’s imagine that Snoop Dog makes a new request to Musk. On November 16, 2023, the singer announced he would quit smoking. Knowing his passion for it, no one was fooled, and of course, it was a publicity stunt for fireplaces… But we know the effects of drugs on the brain, so why not a little Neuralink to get back on the right foot?
