Here is the Tesla trunk cooler!

One of the features of electric cars is a trunk placed at the front, in addition to the rear trunk. And Tesla has found a use for it.

After Fisker’s Pizza drawer and Rivian’s induction heating plates, Tesla is joining the automotive food accessory scene with a cooler available initially only for the Cybertruck. Tesla’s large electric SUV is characterized by its wide stance with reduced overhangs, and has motors placed as close to the wheels as possible, freeing up vertical space. Its front trunk or Frunk (a contraction of Front and Trunk) is therefore very wide, but shallow. An ideal format for placing two small suitcases or… a cooler. After all, we don’t transport luggage every day, but what could be better than a nice cold beer (non-alcoholic of course when driving) or a soda after a fishing or hunting trip?

More seriously, time has shown that the Cybertruck, like any good American pickup truck, is not a vehicle suited for city centers. However, it proves to be a perfect utility vehicle thanks to its vast bed and its motor torque providing impressive towing capacity. We remind you that it has already beaten a Porsche 911 Turbo in a Drag Race… while towing a trailer on which the same Porsche was placed! A cooler thus becomes a very valuable accessory in a professional context. This is not entirely new, as models that plug into cigarette lighters have existed for decades.

Tesla has just forgotten one small detail…

The model offered by Tesla is made from the same high-quality stainless steel as the body and provides perfect thermal insulation, allowing perishable goods to be kept on ice for several days according to Tesla. Let’s bet on a few hours instead, because despite a prohibitive price of 700 dollars, this Cybertruck Cooler isn’t even electrically refrigerated! This is absurd knowing that the Cybertruck has cutting-edge V2L technology that allows it to power other electrical devices at high voltage. It’s a shame to cut corners for such a big pickup.
