London taxis at Mickey’s for a good cause

For 30 years now, the Magical Taxi Tour has been providing children with terminal illnesses an unforgettable trip to Disneyland Paris.

The magical journey began this morning for the children with a joyful breakfast, before boarding one of the 100 taxis mobilized for the operation. After a grand departure, as is fitting for a convoy of such importance, the procession is escorted by the London police through the United Kingdom, before their French counterparts take over to guide them to Disneyland Paris. Between taxis and support vehicles, this convoy of happiness often stretches nearly ten kilometers.

Since its inception in 1994, the Magical Taxi Tour has organized 28 trips to Disneyland Paris, providing more than 6,000 children a magical interlude, far from the pains of day-to-day life. Nothing beats an unforgettable trip to the land of dreams to momentarily forget that life can sometimes be cruel to the most innocent. The “black cab” drivers, the famous London black taxis, have dedicated over 140 days of their time to bring a little happiness to these children, using around 3,000 taxis to cover more than 30,000 kilometers.

This year, of the 100 vehicles participating in the operation organized over the weekend of September 20 to 22, 87 are zero-emission TX taxis from LEVC. With its timeless look, this model represents more than 55% of the overall fleet of London taxis. In addition to the materials provided, the Geely Holding group, owner of the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC), has donated £200,000 since 2016. A nice investment that truly deserved a spotlight.
