Mercedes eIntouro, the electric bus with 500 km of range

Daimler Buses has unveiled its first 100% electric intercity bus, the Mercedes-Benz eIntouro, making diesel models obsolete.
Unveiled in fall 2024 in the form of a near-production prototype, the Mercedes-Benz eIntouro has since continued its development and is entering its final stretch.
The eIntouro is equipped with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, the same technology used in the long-distance truck Mercedes-Benz eActros 600. This component-sharing strategy allows Daimler Buses to improve its profitability while delivering high-level performance. With an autonomy of up to 500 km, this intercity bus is ideal for longer trips and higher average speeds, such as rural roads.
Customers will be able to order the eIntouro beginning in early 2025, and the world premiere of the series version is scheduled for the Busworld exhibition in Brussels in October 2025. The first deliveries will take place in 2026.
Mercedes-Benz emphasizes that customers will mainly recharge the eIntouro at the depot in the evening, but it can also be used for excursions and short trips, provided that charging stations are available. Accelerating the development of charging infrastructure is therefore essential.

Up to 414 kWh of Battery
Optionally, the Mercedes-Benz eIntouro is available with one or two battery packs, each with a capacity of 207 kWh, for routes ranging from 250 to 500 km. The charging power reaches 300 kW, and a full charge of the 414 kW version is promised in just 90 minutes. However, this requires the right charging stations.
Two electric motors provide continuous power of 320 kW (435 horsepower) for a mind-blowing peak torque of 24,700 Nm!
Finally, the future Mercedes-Benz eIntouro will offer two body variants and interior layouts: 12.18 or 13.09 meters long. Depending on the choice, capacity ranges from 50 to 63 seats, without the electric drivetrain reducing internal space or luggage compartments compared to the diesel version.
First deliveries planned across Europe in 2026.
