From €18,600, Opel slashes the price of its Corsa Electric

With a XXL discount, a promo code valid until August 31, 2025, and the new CEE energy certification, the Opel electric Corsa is being heavily discounted.

Now is the time to pull out the calculator to understand what is currently happening in Opel dealerships regarding electric vehicles. No one will openly admit it, but the electric offerings from the Stellantis group are turning into a nightmare. The industrial tool is not as efficient as that of competitors, to the point where the performance and prices displayed to customers are poor. Or even very poor.

The case of the Fiat 500e is not isolated. This observation applies to all ranges from all brands, including Opel. Finally, while the product is not inherently bad, it often lacks charm. The most telling example is the electric Renault 5, which has been the best-selling car in France since its launch due to its undeniable charm.

What is the Opel Corsa?

Sharing the same platform as the Peugeot 208, it is essentially just a re-badged version, but one detail makes it more endearing than the French model: its normally positioned steering wheel. Not placed on the driver’s knees, which is nonsensical and causes discomfort when reading the information cluster (speed, etc.).

Two versions of the Opel Corsa exist: 136 or 156 horsepower, the first with a 50 kWh battery and the second with a 54 kWh battery. Thus, there are distinct ranges of 355 km and 424 km.

It is, of course, the 136-horsepower version that has the biggest discount. Its catalog price starts at 28,960 euros before ecological bonuses (now Energy Savings Certificate, explanations HERE), but stock models drop immediately to 22,200 euros. And despite appealing options like the 11 kW on-board charger (400 euros), the Comfort package (500 euros), metallic paint (550 euros), alloy wheels (489 euros), etc.

Cheaper than the petrol Corsa?

The discount is therefore around 8,210 euros, plus a promotional code ETEOPEL25 (valid until August 31, 2025) for 500 euros, and the new Energy Savings Certificate of at least 3,100 euros, regardless of income.

When you add up the savings, the Opel Corsa Electric starts at just 18,600 euros! A fantastic deal that becomes extremely interesting, as operating costs are significantly lower compared to a thermal equivalent.

Moreover, let’s talk about the thermal equivalent: the 1.2 liter turbo version with 100 horsepower, which is less enjoyable to drive, is now more expensive, starting at 18,637 euros before ecological penalties and with fewer options and equipment.

So, who still thinks that electric vehicles are more expensive than petrol ones at purchase? That time is over.
