January 28, 2025 marks a new crucial milestone for MissionH24 and its latest prototype, the H24EVO.
Seeing the H24EVO prototype take on the straightaway at Hunaudières on the main circuit of the 24 Hours of Le Mans is no longer a dream, but a reality in the very near future. Since its creation in 1906, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), organizer of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has established itself as a key player in universal mobility. Safety, performance, comfort, and energy management are all essential themes on which the ACO and its legendary race have accelerated technological advances.
Faced with the urgency of decarbonizing transportation, the ACO has committed to an ambitious approach in favor of clean energies. In 2018, in partnership with GreenGT, which became H24Project, the ACO launched MissionH24, a program dedicated to integrating hydrogen into motorsports competitions. The goal is clear: to introduce, starting in 2028, a category fully dedicated to hydrogen in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship. This project brings together international partners, enhancing its scope and ambition.
H24EVO, worthy successor to the spirit of the 24 Hours
After the LMPH2G and the H24, MissionH24 launched a third phase in October 2023, with an innovative prototype: the H24EVO. A true technological revolution, this vehicle combines fuel cell, electric motors, and advanced energy storage systems. Developed with the latest advancements from renowned technical partners, the H24EVO aims for pure performance to compete with internal combustion vehicles.

Meanwhile, the team is exploring a new approach: liquid hydrogen storage. This solution, better suited to competition requirements, marks a turning point in innovation. Since its inception, MissionH24 has achieved major milestones: endurance races, refueling with mobile H2 systems, and sharing advances with research institutions.
On January 28, at Hyvolution Paris, Hall 4 of the Exhibition Park, the H24EVO was presented to the Parisian audience. Hydrogen experts, motorsport stakeholders, researchers, and media interacted with Pierre Fillon, president of the ACO, Jean-Michel Bouresche, CEO of H24Project, Bassel Aslan, technical director of MissionH24, and Nicolas Aubourg, R&D chassis manager at FIA. Together, they reaffirmed their commitment to a sustainable energy transition.
An educational area also allowed visitors to discover hydrogen through interactive demonstrations, such as the DiscoverHY, a mini fuel cell-powered car. This initiative highlights the commitment of AdvancedH2Valley, a consortium to which the ACO belongs, to promote hydrogen in the mobility of tomorrow.
