Start Grid and TV Schedule for the 2026 Canadian F1 Sprint

Meet us this Saturday, May 23 at 6:00 PM for the Sprint race of the 2026 Canadian Grand Prix of F1.

On the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit in Montreal, the Mercedes team made a strong impact during the Sprint qualifications for the Canadian Grand Prix. George Russell secured the pole position with a time of 1’12″965, just 68 thousandths ahead of his young teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli. An impressive double for the Silver Arrows, confirming the German team’s return to form on this fast and demanding track.

Leading the F1 world championship before this Canadian weekend, Antonelli continues to show his increasing strength. The Italian narrowly missed achieving a symbolic pole but is ideally positioned to aim for another major result during the Sprint.

Behind the Mercedes, Lando Norris limited the damage with a third place for McLaren, over three-tenths off the best time. A strategic position that could allow him to play a leading role right from the lights out in the long straight leading to the first series of corners on the Montreal circuit.

His teammate Oscar Piastri will complete the second row, while the third row will be 100% Ferrari with Lewis Hamilton fifth ahead of Charles Leclerc. Hamilton performed very well on medium tires during the early phases of qualifying but was unable to replicate the same level of performance on soft tires during SQ3.

TV Schedule for the 2026 Canadian F1 Grand Prix

On the French side, Isack Hadjar stood out with a solid eighth place, just behind Max Verstappen. The Frenchman outperformed Esteban Ocon in 14th and Pierre Gasly, who was only 19th on the grid.

See you at 6:00 PM this Saturday afternoon for the Sprint race, which will be followed by the qualifications for the Canadian Grand Prix at 10:00 PM French time.
