Porsche is entering the world of karting!
Porsche sets up the first level of an ambitious pyramid for access to professional championships.
Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) and K1 Speed have announced a multi-year partnership aimed at creating a bridge between karting and Porsche motorsport series in North America. The agreement will allow the best kart drivers to qualify for competitions in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America or USA West.
As part of this partnership, Porsche Motorsport branding will be present in all 72 K1 Speed centers across the United States. Meanwhile, K1 Speed logos will appear on the front bumpers of cars participating in the Carrera Cup North America, Sprint Challenge North America, Sprint Challenge USA West, and Endurance Challenge North America competitions.
Competition for All
K1 Speed organizes arrive-and-drive programs, allowing drivers to participate in monthly races and accumulate points. The top drivers from each center can qualify for competitions at the state level and then nationally. In this context, PMNA and K1 Speed will select two drivers from the national finalists – one teenager and one adult – to cover the entry fees for a future season of the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America or USA West.
According to the official statement, this partnership aims to provide karting participants with an opportunity to progress in motorsport, while enhancing the visibility of both brands across North America.
