Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra: the new scooter features double suspension

Come to pick up the Dualtron, the new flagship Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra with double suspension and large battery, which does not even exceed €1,000.

We hesitated to believe it, but the twitter user who spread the rumor was right! Xiaomi unveiled its new high-end scooter during its conference at MWC in Barcelona (Spain). It was in the European electronics temple that the Chinese giant showcased this model, alongside its wireless earbuds “Buds” and the Watch S1 Pro smartwatch.

The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra packs a punch

Previously, the top of Xiaomi’s scooter catalog was the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Pro. We tested this model priced around €800, which disappointed us in range and power, but was quite comfortable and fun to use.

The new 4 Ultra, surprisingly, features not one but two suspensions! Instead of a shock absorber fork, Xiaomi prefers swing arms, even at the front. Much taller than the “Pro,” the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra can easily widen its deck. The brand therefore includes a larger 561 Wh battery, which would provide up to 70 km of range (at 15 km/h). This suggests about 40-45 km under real conditions in the most intense “S+” mode.

Even more impressive, the motor reaches 940 W, compared to 700 W peak for the Pro. The Xiaomi Ultra delivers a continuous power of 500 W and can climb slopes of 25%.

Aesthetically, the rest remains faithful to the other electric scooters from the manufacturer, as does the display. The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra extends the deck to 88 cm and widens the handlebar to 49 cm (+1). However, the weight of this model at 24.5 kg makes it less portable, although still foldable. The maximum load remains at 120 kg, and resistance reaches IP55 standards (it can ride through puddles).

The price of the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 4 Ultra

After a significant price hike in 2022, such an electric scooter might scare the wallet. But the company surprises everyone by keeping the price below €1,000. The Electric Scooter 4 Ultra is priced at €999, offering an interesting price/performance ratio on paper.

In comparison, it targets the Dualtron Mini starting at €1,199, with a 1.45 kW motor. But the style is more rough-and-ready, and it only promises 40 km of range (up to 65 km as an option).
