Tramway T3b

The new T3b Tram Line was finally inaugurated this week. Rarely have works caused so much inconvenience.

The T3b Tram is finally operational! After four years of endless construction, the extension of the line to Porte Dauphine is now in service. It connects the former terminus at Porte d’Asnières – Marguerite Long, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris, to the new terminus at Porte Dauphine, in the 16th arrondissement, with seven new stations.

This line’s usefulness cannot be questioned as it notably serves Porte Maillot, facilitating access to the La Défense business district. The T3b will generally make it easier to reach western Paris, with numerous connections by metro (lines 1, 3, and 3) and RER (including RER C and soon the future extension of RER E by May 2024). It is especially the end of a nightmare for Parisian drivers, as for four very long years, the gates of Asnières, Champerret, Maillot, and Dauphine have been congested, causing cascading disruptions into the heart of the capital.

In numbers: the extension of T3b to Porte Dauphine

  • 7 new stops between Porte d’Asnières and Porte Dauphine to serve western Paris (including 4 named in honor of famous women)
  • 3 communes served: Paris, Levallois-Perret, and Neuilly-sur-Seine
  • 3.2 km of additional line (total now 17.5 km)
  • 54,000 passengers per day,
  • 12 minutes between Porte d’Asnières and Porte Dauphine
  • Service 7 days a week from 5 AM to 00:30 AM (1.5 hours longer on Fridays and Saturday nights)
  • A tram every 4 minutes during peak hours (8 minutes during off-peak hours)
  • With this new extension, it will be possible to complete 75% of the Paris tram tour
