Can-Am has just unveiled the technical specifications and pricing of its highly anticipated first electric motorcycles.
Known for its huge three-wheeled thermal motorcycles, the Canadian manufacturer Can-Am seeks to diversify its offerings with a new range of fully electric models. This will initially be centered around two models: the Origin and the Pulse.

A Can-Am electric trail and roadster
Built on large diameter wheels, the Origin targets trail motorcycle enthusiasts. It presents an interesting alternative to the Experia introduced by Energica. Can-Am describes it as a distant descendant of its early motocross models, designed to “bring new exhilarating sensations on the road and trails.” More compact and aggressive, the Pulse adds to the ranks of electric roadsters. Both are powered by the new “Rotax e-Power” engine and come standard with an 8.9 kWh battery. The estimated city range for the Can-Am Pulse is up to 160 km, while the Can-Am Origin has a range of 145 km. One of the main features is the innovative liquid cooling system for the battery, inverter, onboard charger, and motor. Thanks to this system, Can-Am promises a quick and efficient recharge from 20% to 80% in 50 minutes on a home charger or public station. Beautiful motorcycles indeed, but not for long distances!
Pre-orders for the Can-Am Pulse and Can-Am Origin motorcycles are now open at selected BRP dealers in France, with starting prices of 16,999 euros for the Pulse and 17,599 euros for the Origin. Prices that are a bit steep, it must be admitted, but what can you do… Riding a Can-Am is something to earn! Production of the vehicles will begin in the fourth quarter of 2024, with deliveries starting worldwide around the beginning of 2025.
