Can-Am Pulse Origin

We should soon know the technical specifications of the first Can-Am electric motorcycles.

Known for its massive three-wheeled thermal bikes, the Canadian manufacturer Can-Am is seeking to diversify its range with a new fully electric lineup. Initially, it will revolve around two models: the Origin and the Pulse.

After a first teaser, the motorcycles were more thoroughly unveiled in August 2023. We now know what they will look like, thanks to the official photos released by the brand. However, their technical specifications still remain unknown. They will only be revealed in mid-2024.

An electric trail and an electric roadster

Mounted on large-diameter wheels, the Origin targets trail motorcycle enthusiasts. It will offer an interesting alternative to the Experia presented by Energica. Can-Am describes it as a distant descendant of its first motocross bikes, designed to “bring exciting new sensations on the road and on the trails”. More compact and aggressive, the Pulse will join the ranks of electric roadsters. Like the Origin, it will be powered by a new motor called “Rotax e-Power” and can be plugged into a type 2 socket.

Can-Am, a subsidiary of the Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP) group, has not announced the prices of its electric motorcycles. While it’s difficult to determine their actual position without detailed specifications, all signs point to the Origin and Pulse being a step above Chinese competition, both in terms of price and features.
