Can-Am finally launches its first electric Quad!

This major innovation marks the first step for Can-Am in the electrification of utility and leisure ATVs following that of motorcycles.

The Outlander Electric is equipped with the Rotax E-Power engine, already used in BRP’s electric motorcycles and snowmobiles. It delivers 47 hp and a torque of 72 Nm. The announced range reaches 80 km under optimal conditions. Charging from 20 to 80% can be done in approximately 50 minutes via a level 2 charger. Three driving modes – Normal, Sport, and Work – allow for adapting the power and response of the engine to the needs of the terrain or tasks. A 6-wheel version is also available.

The model stands out for its silent operation. XPS Recon Force tires, optimized suspension, and a discreet cooling system reduce noise disturbances and enhance comfort. Despite its electric motorization, the ATV retains a towing capacity of 830 kg and can be equipped with over 120 accessories, offering extensive customization options for professional or recreational use.

A new step towards electrification for Can-Am

According to Can-Am, the Rotax E-Power architecture is modular and could be integrated into other models in the future. This initiative is part of BRP’s strategy to gradually electrify its range of off-road vehicles while maintaining certain key features of thermal models.

The arrival of the Outlander Electric responds to a growing demand for quieter and more environmentally friendly ATVs, especially in sensitive areas or agricultural activities. It also paves the way for experimenting with electric propulsion in a segment traditionally dominated by internal combustion engines.
