BMW Remains at the Helm of Law Enforcement

French Gendarmerie, Police, and Customs will continue to ride BMW R 1300 GS and RT until 2028.

BMW Motorrad France confirms its position as a reference for equipping public entities. After three years of successful collaboration and its initial selection in 2022, the manufacturer has been retained for the renewal of the UGAP tender. The National Gendarmerie, National Police, and French Customs will continue to benefit from BMW motorcycles specially developed for their missions.

The selected motorcycles are the BMW R 1300 GS, a large road trail bike of 1,300 cm³, and the BMW R 1300 RT, a large touring bike of the same caliber. These models are designed to offer maneuverability, safety, and comfort, whether navigating through the city or intervening on fast roads. The bikes will be delivered progressively from the first quarter of 2026 to 2028, allowing law enforcement to renew their fleet with reliable and high-performance vehicles.

French Production and Adaptation

Each motorcycle is produced at the Berlin-Spandau factory before being post-equipped and approved according to French standards. BMW Motorrad has nearly a century of expertise in public markets, with over 170,000 official motorcycles delivered in more than 150 countries. In France, the manufacturer continues to strengthen its presence by working with local equipment suppliers and French providers.

This partnership illustrates BMW Motorrad’s ability to combine technology, robustness, and adaptability. The motorcycles for gendarmerie, police, and customs ensure efficiency and safety in all conditions, even extreme ones. They perfectly meet the needs of public missions, where performance and reliability are essential.
