The trend is confirmed: vehicle thefts have decreased by 9% in 2025 according to the latest data published by the Ministry of the Interior. This positive development illustrates the growing impact of automotive protection devices and location technologies. Roole, the first automotive club in France, highlights its exclusive statistics to underscore the effectiveness of the prevention solutions deployed on a large scale among motorists.

Roole emphasizes the importance of the evolution of tools dedicated to securing vehicles. The club, which claims 1.5 million members, particularly highlights location tracking and traceability solutions to favor the rapid identification of stolen cars and speed up their recovery by law enforcement. In addition to these solutions, window engraving is a historical deterrent method.

The profile of targeted vehicles is evolving in parallel. Internal combustion engines still account for 54% of thefts, but hybrids are making significant progress with nearly 36% of reported cases. Fully electric models remain marginal, around 3%, mainly due to their more complex resale and recharging constraints that limit quick travel.

In terms of models, city cars and compact SUVs dominate the statistics. The Renault Clio ranks first, followed by the Toyota RAV4, the Peugeot 208, the Peugeot 3008, and the Renault Mégane.
