These walls conceal the electric Ferrari

The Ferrari e-building will produce internal combustion engine cars, hybrids, and the first electric model from Ferrari.
Ferrari has grandly inaugurated its new factory built in the northern part of the expanding Ferrari campus in Maranello. The area has been revamped by replacing obsolete industrial structures that had a high energy loss. The integration of the production of the entire range into a single building will allow Ferrari to reorganize and reallocate all production activities more efficiently between the existing infrastructures in Maranello, thus increasing its capacity for rapid adaptation to production needs.

A logical evolution of the overall automotive strategy of the brand, it hosts units for the development and production of high-voltage batteries, transmissions, and electric motors.
Environmental Incentive
The building, designed to achieve the highest levels of energy performance, is powered by more than 3,000 solar panels of 1.3 MW installed on the roof. In the short term, the building is expected to be entirely powered by renewable energy, produced from internal and external sources with a guarantee of origin.

Several cutting-edge solutions have been adopted to reuse energy and rainwater in the production cycle. For example, more than 60% of the energy used for testing batteries and motors will be recovered through accumulators and redirected to power new processes.
Ferrari Looks to the Future
The facilities are equipped with collaborative robots that adapt their behavior based on the operator’s needs and digital twins that create a digital replica of the products and processes.

These solutions allow technology to be placed under the control and service of the operators, whose role is thus strengthened within the production process, aiming to ensure the excellence and attention to detail that characterize the Ferrari range.
An Architectural Project
Rectangular in shape and 25 meters high, the new building harmonizes with the landscape and surrounding structures. A highly efficient “skin” has been custom designed for the façade. The choice of frosted glass, interspersed with transparent glass sections, mitigates the imposing visual mass of the building and allows natural light to diffuse inside, while at night, it resembles a glowing lantern.
