The Baltee connected device at the Lépine Competition

France has talent and, above all, a lot of creativity, as demonstrated by the Rennes-based startup Baltee with its connected device.
Baltee, an innovative start-up based in Rennes, will present its connected device B01 at the prestigious Lépine International Paris 2024 Competition (May 1-12, 2024). The Baltee team competes in the “Connected Universe” category with the B01, a solution for the safety and peace of mind of cycling users, especially bike commuters.

In case of an attempted theft, the alarm integrated into the B01 emits a series of deterrent beeps for 5 seconds. Without any doubt, the alarm then sounds at over 100 decibels, effectively deterring potential thieves. Disabling the alarm is easy via the Baltee Mobility app, allowing users to regain control of their bike effortlessly.
Equipped with an intelligent fall detector, the B01 offers additional protection in case of an accident by reacting quickly if the user falls. After emitting sound signals for 15 seconds to allow the user to react, the B01 automatically sends emergency messages to pre-registered contacts with the location.
To enhance safety on the road, the B01 features two levels of sound warning. The first level emits a sound of about 50 to 60 decibels, ideal for alerting cyclists and pedestrians on bike paths and in pedestrian zones. The second level, with a sound of over 100 decibels, is perfectly suited to alert drivers and other road users.
In case of a medical emergency or dangerous situation, the emergency call button, accessible with your thumb, allows you to instantly alert your loved ones when needed. Holding it down for three seconds automatically sends messages to your emergency contacts, providing them with your precise location.
Integrated into the Baltee Mobility app, the B01 also offers the possibility to join a proactive mutual aid community. In case of an emergency, members of this community receive a notification on their smartphones, enabling them to respond quickly and effectively. With access to your location and the type of emergency, these volunteer rescuers can provide valuable assistance when needed.
The B01 device is available for 149 euros on the Baltee website. It is already possible to reserve a free trial version without obligation for delivery expected in September.
