Porsche Vision GT: a virtual supercar for Gran Turismo 7

It’s now Porsche’s turn to create a 100% virtual concept car, this time for the video game Gran Turismo 7, expected on PlayStation 4 and 5.

This new Porsche supercar could have been the successor to the 918 Spyder, the main rival of the Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1 in the early 2010s. But it will not be driven in the real world. It is one of those designer pleasures made by manufacturers exclusively for the Gran Turismo series of video games on PlayStation consoles. After Citroën, Peugeot, Aston Martin, Bugatti, Audi, Mazda, Nissan, Mercedes, Lamborghini, Jaguar, and McLaren, Porsche is indulging in this styling exercise with its Vision Gran Turismo.

As usual with this kind of model, the style is futuristic with a streamlined silhouette and a minimalist interior, inspired by the world of motorsport. Porsche specifies that on paper, the car has an all-electric powertrain, without providing power figures or performance data. Recall that in real life, Porsche already offers a 100% electric sedan—the Taycan—and will soon introduce other zero-emission models in its range. First a family SUV, but probably also a true sports car by 2024.
