Mercedes and Adidas: the S-Class is now worn on your feet
A star on the tongue, seams inspired by a limousine, and three stripes on the sides: the Samba takes a trip to Mercedes. Release scheduled for October 13.
To drive a Mercedes S-Class, a substantial budget is required. To find a small piece of it in your closet, a shoebox will soon be enough. The German manufacturer and Adidas unveil a limited edition of the Samba OG, with a few nods to the iconic luxury sedan. Rest assured: no giant screen protrudes from the laces.
The most amusing detail can be found on the upper, with diamond-patterned stitching reminiscent of the S-Class upholstery. The Mercedes star sits on the tongue, while three monochrome shades make up the range: beige “Magic Beige,” gray “Grey Five,” and black “Black.” A rather understated wardrobe, more in line with the parking at a grand hotel than with the colors of a football locker room.

Yet it was on the fields that the Samba began its career, before becoming a regular on the sidewalks. Here it is promoted as the ambassador of 140 years of innovation celebrated by Mercedes-Benz. A way to give a limousine look to its pedestrian movements, without promising the comfort of its suspension.
Available online and in select Adidas stores starting October 13, this limited edition marks the beginning of a strategic partnership that is set to continue. The price and number of pairs have not been specified in the press release.
To accompany the launch, three S-Class cars engaged in a world tour will stop by the Adidas headquarters in Herzogenaurach. After nearly 65,000 kilometers across six continents, they will certainly deserve to stretch their tires.
