The New BMW iX3 receives homologation for its next-generation driving assistance systems.

BMW takes a major step forward with DCAS (Driver Control Assistance Systems) certification for the New BMW iX3. This international certification allows Level 2 driving assistance systems to be safely offered in many European countries, including France. Thanks to this advancement, BMW confirms its position as a leader in automotive innovation and assisted driving.

The Highway Assistant allows the driver to take their hands off the steering wheel up to 130 km/h. The system keeps the vehicle in its lane and automatically performs lane changes after simple confirmation by a glance in the mirror. Coupled with BMW Maps, the system anticipates lane changes when approaching exits and junctions, offering a smooth and intelligent highway driving experience.

Highway & City Assistant: innovation in the city

For urban driving, the Highway & City Assistant can stop automatically at red lights and restart without driver intervention. Other functions to handle complex city situations will be gradually deployed via over-the-air software updates.

The BMW Symbiotic Drive concept combines artificial intelligence and advanced algorithms to create a harmonious interaction between vehicle and driver. Steering and braking remain assisted while allowing the driver to intervene at any time. This symbiotic approach, protected by more than twenty patents, elevates intelligent assisted driving to a new level.
