Stellantis takes a new step in autonomous mobility by joining forces with three tech giants.

Stellantis confirms its global ambition in autonomous driving with the announcement of a strategic partnership bringing together NVIDIA, Uber, and Foxconn. Together, these players aim to lay the foundation for a global ecosystem of level 4 robotaxis, capable of operating without a driver, marking a major turning point for the mobility of tomorrow.

This collaboration aims to merge four complementary areas of expertise: Stellantis’s industrial mastery, NVIDIA’s software and artificial intelligence power, Foxconn’s electronics and integration know-how, as well as Uber’s dominant position in on-demand transportation services. The goal: to design, produce, and deploy safe, efficient, and accessible autonomous vehicles at large scale.

Stellantis and the Sacred Union

Future robotaxi fleets will rely on Stellantis’s AV-Ready platforms, notably the K0 and the STLA Small, integrating NVIDIA DRIVE AGX Hyperion 10 technology and the DriveOS operating system, both certified for level 4 autonomous driving safety. These modular architectures will enable multiple uses, from urban shared mobility services to logistics applications.

Uber plans to deploy about 5,000 Stellantis autonomous vehicles in several major cities, first in the United States, before expanding globally. The first large-scale tests are expected to begin within the next few years, with commercial production anticipated in 2028.

This initiative complements the recently concluded partnership with Pony.ai for robotaxi development in Europe, confirming Stellantis’s strategy: multiplying alliances to stay at the forefront of autonomous mobility.

According to Antonio Filosa, CEO of Stellantis, this collaborative approach aims to “create a scalable, safer, and smarter solution for everyone.” A vision shared by Jensen Huang (NVIDIA), Dara Khosrowshahi (Uber), and Young Liu (Foxconn), who see this project as an accelerator of the transformation of the car into a true robot on wheels.
