Bornes de recharge Ionity

It’s a paradox that will please electric car users: despite a 10% increase in electricity prices in August, the charging station rates at Ionity are decreasing.

The price war at charging stations continues. Several operators have recently lowered their prices, including Ionity, which is reducing its rates by 10 cents in France. This decrease is not so surprising; despite the rising electricity costs for consumers, operators are still managing to lower charging station prices.

What are the new rates?

Before Ionity’s rate reduction, the cost was 69 cents per kWh for non-subscribers and 49 cents for subscribers. However, with this decrease, the rates are no longer the same. Non-subscribers now pay 59 cents per kWh, while platform subscribers will pay 39 cents per kWh. There is a 20-cent difference between the rates for subscribers and non-subscribers.

At the same time, the subscription fee is now 11.99 euros, down from 17.99 euros prior to the price cut.

The number of operators on the market is increasing. Recently, Engie has joined Electra in this competition. However, prices vary: Tesla offers a rate of 42 cents per kWh for non-subscribers or non-Tesla EV owners, compared to 30 cents per kWh for subscribers. This is an 17-cent lower rate for non-subscribed drivers compared to platform subscribers. The main beneficiaries of this competition are consumers, as operators will strive to offer the best deal. In the coming weeks, prices may even decrease further at some of these providers.
