Allego: Charging prices will increase in September
This page is translated from the original post "Allego : le prix de la recharge gonflera en septembre" in French.

The Allego EV charging station operator increases its rates by up to +25% in France, where ultra-fast charging now matches Ionity’s prices.
Energy prices are soaring rapidly across Europe, especially in France. Thanks to our nuclear power plants, we enjoyed some of the lowest tariffs on the continent. However, the war in Ukraine has triggered an energy crisis, and our plants face two issues: maintenance challenges and cooling difficulties due to warm water temperatures.
From less than €60/MWh last summer, electricity prices spiked above €500/MWh in August 2022! In response to this surge, some distributors are adjusting their pricing. This is the case for the Allego charging network, which is already revising its rates across Europe. Their prices had already increased in June!
+25% Increase at Allego Stations
Allego’s alternating current (AC) stations with 22 kW power are experiencing their prices soar. The current rate of €0.40/kWh in France will increase to €0.50/kWh starting September 1, 2022. This represents a 25% increase! Charging a Dacia Spring—from 10% to 80%—would then cost an additional two euros, while a Renault ZOE would incur about four euros more.
As for the DC fast chargers (50 kW), the situation is similar—a cold shower. Their prices will go from €0.55 to €0.69 per kWh, a 10-cent increase equating to +25%. This applies to chargers like those at Géant Casino or Carrefour that feature Allego charging stations.

This will also be the case at highway rest areas, where the rate of €0.59/kWh will now reach €0.69/kWh. For example, this will impact the Allego station at La Bruche rest area (A355 Highway), the first in the network within the country.
If we consider a 10-80% charge for a typical Peugeot e-208 (50 kWh), the difference is nearly €5. For a Tesla Model Y or Kia EV6 battery, the gap is about €7.50.
Ultra-fast charging just as expensive as Ionity
Regarding the fastest charging stations, those exceeding 50 kW (up to 300 kW), the rate increase is less pronounced. The price will go from €0.65 to €0.79 per kWh, a 21% increase. It’s now on the Ionity stations (350 kW) that the rate now shifts from €0.79/min to €0.79/kWh.

Highway chargers, currently at €0.69/kWh, will also adopt this new rate. For a Hyundai Ioniq 5, the bill for a rapid 10-80% charge would increase from €35.26 to €40.37.
Summary of new Allego tariffs (+ Géant Casino / Carrefour):
Power | Old Rate | New Price |
22 kW AC | €0.40/kWh | €0.50/kWh |
50 kW DC | €0.55/kWh | €0.69/kWh |
50 kW DC (highway) | €0.59/kWh | €0.69/kWh |
>50 kW DC | €0.65/kWh | €0.79/kWh |
>50 kW DC (highway) | €0.69/kWh | €0.79/kWh |
Note that this rate does not apply universally at all Allego stations. For example, the Roissy station charges €3.50 per session plus €0.50 per minute. Also note that Allego stations integrate other charging networks: Fastned, Nissan, and Electra. Each network sets its own prices, which can be checked on the official website, operator sites, or specialized platforms like Chargemap.
It’s therefore not surprising that these networks may increase their prices in the coming weeks.
