VUF Bikes, a specialist in cargo bikes for professionals, showcased its new model equipped with a Valeo motor at CES 2023 in Las Vegas.

At CES 2023 in Las Vegas, it wasn’t just about electric cars and autonomous vehicles. In mobility, interest is also growing with the presence of cargo bikes from the brand VUF Bikes (French Utility Bikes).

Cargo bikes for professionals

Originally from Pau, Anthony and Thomas Chenut founded their bicycle company in Toulouse in 2014, initially as an operator. The two brothers moved a few months ago to Bordeaux, and designed their very first model in 2017, a cargo bike developed for city waste collection.

Today, the Bordeaux-based company offers two versions of its tricycle, with the cargo box at the rear. The VUF Messenger features a small cargo box of 60 x 40 cm for transporting 100 kg, and the XXL version has a large box measuring 130 x 110 cm supporting up to 150 kg. Both have a height limit of 1.80 m and an front luggage rack supporting 15 kg. Aiming at professionals, VUF Bikes even offers a flat chassis, a trailer, and a taxi version for 2 passengers.

VUF Bikes inaugurate the new Valeo motor

If VUF Bikes attended CES 2023, it’s thanks to Valeo. The major French supplier works for the automotive industry but also for the world of bicycles. Notably, it has developed 48-volt motors with automatic gearboxes, produced since 2022 in Isle-d’Abeau (Isère). It now supplies 14 companies, including VUF Bikes, which was invited along with 23 other companies from the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The company is also the first to equip this new Valeo Cyclee motor.
