Skoda Dives Back into Its Fun Years!
This page is translated from the original post "Skoda replonge dans ses années Fun !" in French.

In December 2024, Mobiwisy presented the Felicia Fun and wondered if Skoda would ever dare to bring it back to life.
Six months later, Skoda takes a new step for our greatest joy with a concept car. All that remains is to formalize the project to dream once again of the return of a colorful and quirky icon.
The original Felicia Fun, produced between 1997 and 2000, was an extraordinary pick-up in the Skoda range. With its vibrant lines, bubbly colors, and a modular rear with pop-up seats, it embodied a spirit of freedom and rare enjoyment for the Czech brand. Produced in only 4,216 units, it is now a cult model and particularly sought after, with only a handful of vehicles still registered.

The new concept, designed by French designer Julien Petitseigneur, reinterprets this legendary model with Skoda’s beloved “Modern Solid” philosophy. The clean shapes and bold proportions of this guiding line blend with the retro touches of the original Felicia Fun to create a cocktail that is both nostalgic and contemporary. The hood and grille adopt the Modern Solid signature, while the T-shaped LED headlights subtly recall the 90s era.
Skoda also knows how to have fun
At the rear, the famous spoiler is retained, but the light strip becomes neon pink, a detail echoed on the rims and windows to enhance the playful spirit of the concept. The interior also dares to be fanciful, featuring a dashboard screen with retro graphics reminiscent of vintage video games, evoking CRT screens from that era. Petitseigneur chose not to replicate the sliding partition system and open rear seats, but the structure of the concept could easily accommodate them for a production version.

“The Felicia Fun didn’t take itself seriously; it stood out and made people happy,” explains Petitseigneur. “Adapting its simple forms to the Modern Solid philosophy was surprisingly easy. It was mostly about proportions and details, not reinventing everything.”
