Sales Surge for Volvo in March

In March, Volvo Cars set a historic record for global sales in a single month. The small electric EX30 is bringing good fortune.

Volvo sold 78,970 vehicles worldwide in March, representing a 25% increase compared to the same month last year. The brand’s new fully electric small model, the Volvo EX30, contributed to this impressive performance.

While the Sino-Swedish manufacturer produced the last Diesel vehicle in its history, the electrified Volvo range, whether fully electric or plug-in hybrid, grew by 24% compared to the same period last year, with 33,558 vehicles sold, accounting for 42% of all vehicles sold globally. Fully electric vehicles alone represent 23% of sales.

The fully electric EX30 takes command

Total sales for the first quarter of 2024 amounted to 182,687 vehicles worldwide, a 12% increase compared to the same period last year.

In France, Volvo more than doubled its registrations in March compared to the same month last year, totaling 2,975 vehicles registered, including 1,844 fully electric vehicles. The brand also recorded a record first quarter in France with 5,948 registrations made between January and March 2024, achieving a market share of 1.34%. This growth phase is propelled by the launch of the Volvo EX30, which represents 2,472 registrations since the beginning of the year, including 1,395 registrations in March alone.
