Peugeot has scheduled an event for Tuesday, August 26, 2025, to unveil the new facelifted 308.

Four years after the launch of its third generation, Peugeot’s successful compact gets a mid-life update, both aesthetic, technological, and mechanical, in order to remain competitive in a highly contested segment against the Renault Mégane E-Tech, Volkswagen ID.3, and Opel Astra Electric.

The facelift is expected to be noticeable at first glance. At the front, the 308 will adopt a more modern look inspired by the new 3008, featuring the “triple claws” light signature, now characteristic of the range. The grille will be redesigned with a three-dimensional effect and new wheels are expected to appear. The rear will evolve more discreetly, but enough to refresh the style without betraying the identity of the sedan and SW estate.

Moving upmarket for the Peugeot 308

Inside, Peugeot will emphasize the evolution of the i-Cockpit, with modernized graphics and an enhanced multimedia system. The materials and finishes are also expected to benefit from a bit of a refresh to accompany the introduction of a new high-end trim called GT Exclusive.

Under the hood, the facelifted 308 offers an expanded and electrified lineup. The fully electric version will develop 156 hp and offer a range of about 450 km, meeting the demands of customers seeking versatility. The lineup will also include a 145 hp 48V mild hybrid, a 195 hp plug-in hybrid paired with an e-DCS7 transmission, and a 130 hp BlueHDi diesel planned for early 2026, proving that Peugeot is not completely abandoning diesel.

In terms of pricing, the brand has already confirmed a price increase: approximately +€100 for the electric version and +€650 for thermal and hybrid engines. This strategy reflects the inflation of production costs, but also Peugeot’s intention to position the 308 a notch above.

The commercialization will start in the fall, with a complete lineup covering sedan, estate, electric, and hybrid versions. Peugeot aims to consolidate the success of its flagship compact, which remains one of the pillars of the brand in the European market.
