Leapmotor hid this anti-Tesla weapon from us!

While Leapmotor has unveiled its development plan in Europe with two models, a third has remained in the shadows.

Leapmotor is originally a promising Chinese start-up founded in 2015. A brand that has wisely found its place in the Chinese market to the point of being noted by the giant Stellantis seeking alliances in the Middle Empire. In 2023, Stellantis acquired 20% of Leapmotor as part of a 1.5 billion euro transaction. Following this, Leapmotor and Stellantis created a joint venture called Leapmotor International with the aim of deploying the Chinese brand’s range worldwide. In this joint venture, Stellantis holds a majority stake of 51%.

This alliance comes to fruition with the announcement this week of the arrival in Europe of two models from the range, the small city car T03 and the 100% electric SUV C10. While the T03 is currently presented as the cheapest electric car on the French market, this is only under the condition of obtaining the Eco Bonus by showing a clean record and local production. Nevertheless, this car is already over 3 years old and may struggle to convince an increasingly discerning clientele. Then there’s the C10 with very classic lines and a mediocre specifications sheet when compared to its price. In short, the arrival of Leapmotor has so far been nothing particularly remarkable.

But that was before the teasing of a third car, the B10. Even in China, the arrival of this car was surprising as it was not announced in the short, medium, or long term plans of the manufacturer. And now we are told about its presence at the Paris Motor Show! Electric, hybrid, both? With a range extender? Sorry, but even after scouring Chinese news sites, we found no additional information. So let’s meet at the Press Day of the show on October 14 to see if this car is a serious competitor to the Renault Scenic, Tesla Model Y, and… the Peugeot and Alfa Romeo SUVs from parent company Stellantis! That would be ironic…
