Prices and photos of the future Dacia Bigster
This page is translated from the original post "Tarifs et photos du futur Dacia Bigster" in French.

Announced in 2021, the Dacia Bigster aims to be much more than a simple next-generation Duster stretched to accommodate 7 passengers.
Since its launch, the Duster has greatly contributed to Dacia’s success. While the new generation of the adventurer was introduced, a larger and still robust SUV is concurrently in development. The Dacia Bigster, previewed by the 2021 concept of the same name, will be launched in 2025. It aims to combine the merits of the Duster with a more spacious interior. Challenge accepted!

The main differences between the Concept and the production vehicle are expected to concern only certain elements such as more conventional LED blocks, simplified alloy wheels, and some bumper details to pass homologation phases. However, the large-series model is expected to retain the pronounced wheel arches, squared wheel passages, oversized protection skis, and generous ground clearance of the concept, which will be incorporated into the next-generation Duster. In fact, the two SUVs will share several panels, including all the front blocks and possibly the rear, giving the Bigster the appearance of a stretched Duster. A principle developed by Peugeot on the 3008 and 5008 that has proven very successful! Likewise, the Duster and Bigster are expected to share the same interior, except of course for the number of seats.

The Bigster’s engines are expected to align with those of the next-generation Duster, including both petrol and hybrid options. A 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine equipped with a 48 V mild hybrid system to reduce emissions will be available. For the first time at Dacia, a plug-in hybrid version is also expected to be offered. All-wheel drive, highly popular on the Duster, is clearly in the plans to enhance its utility aspect.
In direct competition with its Nissan and Renault cousins, the Bigster will need to carefully manage its entry-level pricing. An entry price of 22,000 euros has been announced, which would place it less than 3,000 euros above the Duster. However, nothing prevents tapping into a wide catalogue of options to customize the basic budget version a bit.
Dacia still has time to refine its plan since the Bigster will not arrive at European dealerships before 2025. A year after the Duster to allow this model to establish itself without direct competition. Both SUVs will be produced at the same factory in Mioveni, Romania.
