Denza D9

The DENZA D9 DM-i plug-in hybrid arrives in France and promises a first-class level of comfort.

After establishing itself as the global leader in electrified vehicles, the Chinese manufacturer BYD continues to move upmarket with DENZA. This premium brand, created in 2010 and fully controlled by BYD, aims to compete with global high-end automakers by offering models that focus on new technologies, refinement, and performance. A few months after its European unveiling, the first model of the brand is now available for order in France.

The DENZA D9 DM-i is offered from €78,500 in the Elegance trim and €83,500 in the Ultimate trim. This large luxury seven-seater targets both families and high-end transport professionals with a spacious, modular, and particularly refined cabin.

Luxury, Calm, and Electricity

One of its main assets lies in its comfort. The second-row “Air Spa” zero-gravity seats, available in the Ultimate trim, offer numerous electric adjustments, massage functions, heating, and ventilation. The D9 also features a panoramic roof of 1.1 m², a Devialet audio system with 16 speakers, an integrated refrigerator, and several screens for passengers.

Under the hood, the DENZA D9 DM-i adopts BYD’s DM-i plug-in hybrid technology. It combines a 1.5-liter turbo gasoline engine with two electric motors for a combined power of 353 hp and all-wheel drive. With its 58.5 kWh Blade battery, the manufacturer claims up to 210 km of range in 100% electric mode (WLTP) and a total range of 950 km with the fuel tank.

The minivan also inaugurates FLASH Charging technology, which allows, according to BYD, to charge the battery from 10% to 70% in just five minutes under optimal conditions.
