Exceptional Toyota cars in a draw?

Produced in limited numbers, the special launch editions of the new Land Cruiser and GR Yaris will be assigned by lottery.

100% thermal, authentic, and downright outdated, these Toyota models are nonetheless set to become true collectors’ items in France. On one side, there’s a powerful and hyper-excited compact, and on the other, a renowned adventurer considered the toughest in the world. Two models that are completely opposed and have little place on French roads, where their 100% thermal engines expose them to a prohibitive ecological penalty. But two true favorites that share a common characteristic: their all-wheel drive.

The launch series Land Cruiser First Edition emphasizes heritage with specific design elements that pay homage to the iconic BJ40, and a no-frills off-road character. It notably features classic round headlights and two exclusive two-tone exterior paint options: Sand Yellow and Graphite Blue.

The limited editions Ogier and Rovanperä of the new GR Yaris were developed under the supervision of Sébastien Ogier, who won two of his eight titles in WRC with TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (2020 and 2021), and Kalle Rovanperä, champion in 2022 and 2023. These two limited series feature the latest evolution of the GR Yaris’s 1.6-litre turbo 3-cylinder engine, which delivers 280 hp and 390 Nm of torque, paired with an intelligent six-speed manual transmission.

Eight Toyotas for eight lucky winners

Five Land Cruiser First Editions, two GR Yaris Ogier Editions, and one GR Yaris Rovanperä Edition are offered in France through a lottery. To participate, simply register on the dedicated page of the site www.toyota.fr between April 15 and April 30, 2024. Interested individuals will be invited to choose their model and pay a deposit of 1,000 euros, which will be deducted from the final price. This deposit will be fully refunded if the participant is not drawn. The lottery will be conducted by a bailiff on May 15, and participants will have until May 31 to confirm their order at the dealership of their choice.

The initiative is pleasant and quite original, but we have yet to mention the price of these exceptional cars… The Land Cruiser First Edition is offered at 92,000 euros and the GR Yaris at 69,000 euros! In both cases, the ecological penalty will push the bill beyond 100,000 euros. Is it reasonable to participate in this lottery? Of course not, and that’s exactly why its success is guaranteed!
