What if Honda finally understood that a car should be desirable?

By exaggerating a bit, one might regret that no model in the Honda lineup evokes emotion other than the NSX. But what if that changed?

The new stylistic direction of Honda will make its grand debut this weekend at two major automotive events in the United States, The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering, and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Élégance. And we are already smitten!

For this presentation, Honda is relying on its very popular Premium branch Acura across the Atlantic. The Acura Precision EV Concept is based on a brand new 100% electric platform directly developed by Honda. Previously, the brand was using General Motors’ Ultium platform. This is a mutual exchange between the two manufacturers, as in return for this technology, Honda’s designers lent a helping hand to the American manufacturer. It is surprising to see how much more impactful GM’s electric models are compared to the Japanese models. As if the Japanese designers had taken a little break of madness away from the constraints at H. But let’s return to this Precision EV, which is much more than just a show model since Honda has already announced its arrival on the roads as early as 2025, both under the Acura badge and the Honda emblem.

The Awakening of Honda?

But this weekend, it will indeed be a concept with its oversized 23-inch wheels intended to enhance a line that doesn’t really need it. The design favors smooth surfaces and presents a very sleek appearance. It’s both soft and aggressive, a true success. Honda claims that its designers were inspired by the new foil racing boats with their very thin central hulls and sharp wings like blades. The front clearly illustrates this vision. Ultimately, the Precision EV aims to pay homage to the first generation NSX. This is less obvious, but it doesn’t matter because we couldn’t have chosen a better inspiration at Honda!
