Vinfast VF7 & VF6: What is the range of the Vietnamese electric SUVs?
This page is translated from the original post "Vinfast VF7 & VF6 : quelle autonomie pour les SUV électriques vietnamiens ?" in French.

Present at the last Auto Show, the Vinfast VF7 and VF6 electric SUVs are once again making headlines at CES in Las Vegas by releasing their technical specifications.
Vinfast has been present in France for a few months, but the least we can say is that the arrival of the Vietnamese manufacturer has gone rather unnoticed. It must be said that the models currently available are too large and too expensive to have a chance to reach significant volumes here. The new Vinfast VF7 and VF6, on the other hand, seem more aligned with European standards. They are not yet listed in the brand’s catalog, but will be available for order starting in March 2023.
The essential technical data was revealed at CES in Las Vegas, which opened its doors on January 5. The Vinfast VF6, which will compete with the Peugeot e-2008, or the Hyundai Kona Electric, will feature a 174 hp motor and offer a range of 399 km (WLTP cycle). A second version with 201 hp will also be available. It can travel 381 km on a single charge.
A Vinfast VF7 with all-wheel drive and more powerful motorization
More imposing, the VF7 will be designed with compact SUV dimensions. In the base configuration, it will have a single 201 hp motor and promises a range of 450 km (still WLTP cycle). A Vinfast VF7 equipped with a second motor and all-wheel drive will complete the lineup. Its power will increase to 348 hp, and its range will decrease to 431 km. This version will also feature a larger central touchscreen (15 inches versus 12.9 inches on the basic VF7 and the Vinfast VF6).
The prices for these two vehicles have not yet been announced. For the two models already on sale, Vinfast offers a choice between outright purchase and battery leasing. With the second option, the price drops significantly, but a fairly substantial rental fee must be paid (at least €120/month).
