Video – A CGI IRL Tesla Cybertruck?

If you’re a die-hard Tesla fan, you’ll recognize these acronyms that the manufacturer loves to play with.

But in France, we are not used to using them, so here is their meaning. CGI for “Computer Generated Imagery” or computer-generated images. IRL for “In Real Life”.

Tesla constantly plays on this increasingly thin boundary between CGI and real images to emphasize the visionary aspect of its Cybertruck. A vehicle that you could imagine straight out of a science fiction movie but that is very real. CGI IRL, a computer-generated image in real life, in short.

In the latest video posted on the official Cybertruck X account, a Cybertruck is seen for a minute speeding along a dirt road in a landscape reminiscent of Lord of the Rings. Undoubtedly real images that illustrate the perfect ease of this huge pickup on this hostile terrain. Navigating curves and slopes without slowing down, it demonstrates total ease… unless these are CGI images? You be the judge.
