Ari Motors: This tiny electric city car will surprise you

The Ari Motors 902 is a cute electric micro car, not too expensive to buy and especially offering a record-breaking trunk volume in its category. Mobiwisy tells you everything.

If you’re a regular Mobiwisy reader, you’ve probably appreciated our feature on electric micro-cars in issue 4 published in February 2023. As Ligier prepares to make a big splash with the launch of its Myli on the French market (read our article on Ligier Myli), another European player might soon come into the spotlight.

Ari Motors, does that sound familiar? Well, this small manufacturer is based in Leipzig, Germany, and has been around since 2017. Specializing in small electric utility vehicles, it benefits from the expertise of a Chinese player in the field (Jiuayan EV), but assembles its models in the Czech Republic.

The Ari Motors 902 or Teeny-Weeny Ari 902 for the insiders, is the latest novelty. Its look as a no-permit micro car is trendy, with a front that somewhat resembles the new Hyundai Kona. Depending on the versions, you can also enjoy full-body paint and pretty alloy wheels.

Interesting Features

The dimensions are similar to its peers: 2.95 meters long and 1.50 meters wide. But most importantly, the micro-citizen can load up to 766 liters of volume behind its two front seats, which is simply unprecedented in its category. And that’s not all. Ari Motors claims that the payload capacity reaches up to 190 kg, making it the most compact mover in its class.

To carry its passengers and their cargo, the Ari 902 can rely on a 15 kW or 20 hp electric motor. This allows it to reach speeds of up to 90 km/h and travel up to 200 km with the optional 18 kWh battery. However, charging might require patience, as this micro-car only accepts standard 220-230 V power.

Sold in Germany starting at €13,990 in the Pure trim and €15,990 in the Comfort trim with air conditioning, it should soon be available in the French market. Note that all versions come with a 4-year warranty.
