The Volvo EX30 Soon Eligible for Eco Bonus!

A few days after increasing its prices in France, Volvo is preparing to lower them thanks to the ecological bonus of 4000 euros. Why?

The industrialization of Europe has begun, and the protectionist policy of Emmanuel Macron, which displeases the German manufacturers, seems to be yielding results. Thus, to bypass the toll for cars produced in China entering Europe, the Chinese giant Geely is set to manufacture the Volvo EX30 and EX90 in Belgium!

In fact, this information was already known, but the first “Belgian” models were expected by the end of 2025, allowing time for everything to be set up. However, in light of the urgency, Volvo has seemingly accelerated its process according to the English newspaper The Times.

Starting at 35,100 euros?

A few days ago, Mobiwisy noticed that the selling price of the Volvo EX30 suddenly increased by 1600 euros, rising from 37,500 to 39,100 euros. Confusion was total as the prices of electric cars continue to decrease and competition is fierce.

Now, with the promise of a price reduction of 4000 euros thanks to the ecological bonus in France by the end of 2024, the Volvo EX30 will thus see its entry-level price begin at 35,100 euros. This places it in direct competition with a Renault Mégane EV, certainly at the same price, but still superior in terms of performance (except for half the power, but hey…).

However, the question arises as to why Volvo raises its prices? To improve its margin at the expense of the ecological bonus, and therefore taxpayers? Another question will soon arise: how long will electric cars (and thus manufacturers generating billions of euros in profits) need to be subsidized by a French state whose financial urgencies are frankly elsewhere.
