We are testing the new Hyundai Ioniq 6 between Avignon and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. While awaiting our full article, discover the photos of the 100% electric coupe sedan!
Mobiwisy was one of the first media outlets to feature the Hyundai Ioniq 6 in early October 2022 during its static presentation. The large Korean coupe sedan tries to appeal to a clientele previously resistant to electric cars, with its suggestive lines and high-end presentation.

To develop their Ioniq 6, Hyundai engineers took advantage of a reference technical base, that of its smaller sibling Hyundai Ioniq 5 (and thus of the cousin Kia EV6), which is currently among the benchmarks in 100% electric road cars.
Measuring 4.86 meters long and 1.88 meters wide, Hyundai already commands attention with its size, placing it between a Tesla Model Y (4.75 m) and a Porsche Taycan (4.96 m). It also draws inspiration from Porsche’s distinctive style, especially in the treatment of its headlights and with a rounded rear that recalls numerous Stuttgart models, including the legendary Porsche 911.
Classical and Modern

The DNA of the 4-door coupe is reflected in its low height, which makes access somewhat more challenging than on a Hyundai Ioniq 5. One descends into an Ioniq 6, rather than climbing into an Ioniq 5, in a way.
The interior is also highly valuable. The manufacturer leans towards classicism with a very horizontal dashboard featuring encased ventilation grilles and maintaining some physical controls, especially for the air conditioning. But the Hyundai Ioniq 6 also displays true modernity, thanks to its stunning dual digital screens and the intriguing camera mirrors available at an optional supplement of around €1,200.
Two Powertrains

In terms of technical specifications, only two versions will be available in the catalog in February 2023. A front-wheel-drive version with 229 hp and a four-wheel-drive version called HTRAC developing 325 hp. For our first test drive, we took the wheel of the 229 hp version, here is the technical sheet.
