The Lexus ES Enters the EV Era
Lexus unveils the new electric generation of the ES, a premium sedan reimagined around a blend of technology and simplicity.
Lexus presents a new version of the ES marking an important step in the model’s evolution: for the first time, the sedan adopts a fully electric powertrain. Its launch is scheduled for Europe in 2026.
Developed according to the design concept “Clean Tech x Elegance,” this generation combines a technological approach with a quest for visual simplicity. The teams worked from a “super-ideal” design before adapting the project to production constraints, rather than simply applying an evolution of the previous model.

The new Lexus ES is built on the brand’s global K-Platform architecture, optimized for electrification. The proportions have been defined according to the golden ratio principle to balance length, width, height, and wheelbase. The goal is to offer a sleek silhouette with generous interior space.
Electric by choice
On the outside, the model adopts the “spindle body,” integrated into the bodywork and extended from the hood to the front bumper. The front retains a low and wide stance, with a double L light signature unique to the electrified versions. In profile, a black strip structures the line and visually reduces the height. At the rear, a continuous light strip incorporates the Lexus logo and the taillights into a cohesive whole.

The interior emphasizes simplicity and functionality. The “Hidden Switches” controls appear only upon starting the vehicle. The driver’s seat follows the Tazuna philosophy with a 12.3-inch digital display oriented towards the driver. The materials and lighting effects enhance the feeling of quality and space.
