The Kia EV3 is Subtly Unveiled

The Kia EV3 aims to offer all the advantages of the large Kia EV9 in a compact format. Simple downsizing?

The South Korean manufacturer Kia has expressed its ambition to develop a wide range of electric vehicles priced between 30,000 and 80,000 euros, including existing models such as EV6 and EV9, as well as future offerings designed for highly popular segments B and C. The brand aims to introduce smaller electric vehicles, such as EV5, EV4, and EV3, with prices ranging from 35,000 to 50,000 euros, in order to accelerate widespread adoption of electric vehicles and reach an annual sales figure of 1.6 million units by 2030.

Kia Takes a Successful Recipe to a New Level

The EV3 aims to provide its users with all the technology, convenience, and design of Kia’s flagship EV9 in a compact and accessible SUV. Although such qualities may seem incompatible to some, offering design solutions that are both creative and innovative by combining seemingly antagonistic sources is at the very heart of Kia’s “Opposites United” philosophy.

The EV3 concept has provided a preview of the architecture chosen, with robust wheel arches characterized by their square shape with asymmetrical corners. This aspect contrasts with the enveloping windshield and the rear pillar with a concaved design that gives the roof a floating effect.

If Kia meets its target of a price around 35,000 euros, this EV3 has a good chance of finding its audience. Would it disrupt the EV9? Stay tuned for the final model to be unveiled on May 23.
