The Fire of Foolishness Spreads as 17 Tesla Cars Catch Fire in Rome

Italian police open an investigation after several Teslas are burned in Rome, which Elon Musk once again describes as an act of terrorism.

A Tesla dealership located on the outskirts of Rome was destroyed by flames overnight from Sunday to Monday. According to the Italian news agency Ansa, the fire was reported around 4:00 AM and damaged a total of 17 cars. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.

This incident is part of a series of attacks targeting Elon Musk’s automobile manufacturer. Two days earlier, another fire destroyed seven Teslas in northwest Germany. In response to the increase in vandalism, the FBI recently established a special team to combat what Musk calls “domestic terrorism” targeting dealerships, infrastructure, and vehicles of the brand.

Tesla Pays for Elon Musk’s Excesses

Tesla has become a target as Musk actively supports the drastic reduction policy of the American federal government led by the Trump administration, through the Department of Government Efficiency (DGE). This stance has heightened tensions, especially in Europe.

Last weekend, the anti-Tesla movement organized its largest demonstration to date, with rallies called “Tesla Takedown” in over 200 cities worldwide, primarily in the United States. While many protesters advocate for peaceful actions, these events reflect growing opposition. Additionally, Tesla’s sales in Europe fell by 49% in the first two months of the year compared to the same period in 2024, according to the European Auto Manufacturers Association.

Elon Musk recently sparked significant controversy in Europe after publicly supporting the far-right party AFD during last month’s German elections. Whatever individual opinions may be, no difference of ideas can justify such gestures. No injuries have been reported so far, but the foolishness of some extremists unfortunately raises concerns of the worst.
