The creator of the London taxi unveils his luxury minivan

The LEVC L380, an ultra-luxurious electric monospace, will be launched in China this year before expanding to other markets.

If the brand LEVC is unknown to you, there’s nothing to worry about. However, you probably know its famous Black Cab.

The company’s history began in 1908 when a first black taxi was specifically designed and put into service for use in London. With its incomparable silhouette and classic design elements, this iconic British vehicle has been defining the company for over a century. In 2018, LEVC introduced its latest model, the electric TX. This model mainly makes up the fleet of the VTC operator Caocao in France. In the meantime, the British manufacturer was acquired by a Chinese group following its buyout by Geely.

A very Jet Set Luxury

Today, LEVC is turning a new important page in its history with the mass production of its L380, the first in a new line of innovative, spacious, and fully electric models. It has the important task of helping the brand accelerate its transition from a taxi manufacturer to a leading provider of electric mobility solutions.

The airy and sophisticated interior draws inspiration from the world of luxury air travel. It features high-end materials and up to 8 first-class leather seats, which can be folded down to sleep. The large panoramic glass roof floods the cabin with natural light or shields occupants with electric blackout.

Remaining are a few minor details such as its powertrains, range, and of course, its prices. But we’re now used to seeing Chinese manufacturers get ahead of themselves…
