In July, the number of registrations in France increased again, not including Tesla which remains the top seller of electric vehicles.

One year. It has been a year since the automotive market has been steadily growing, and once again, July saw an increase in the number of registrations. In July 2023, the number of vehicles sold was 128,946, according to AAA Data. This figure is 20% higher than the same period last year. However, one manufacturer outperforms the others — it is the American company Tesla. It leads the electric vehicle brands in France.

Hybrid and electric vehicles in great shape

Hybrid vehicles also experienced significant growth. Of the 128,946 vehicles sold, 46,131 are hybrid vehicles, representing 35.7% of July’s registrations. An increase of 43% compared to June 2023. The market share for electric vehicles is less impressive but still rising compared to June 2023. An increase of 32% from the previous month, reaching 16,866 registrations, or 13% market share, largely thanks to Tesla.

Tesla still leads the pack

The American company led by Elon Musk continues to dominate the electric vehicle brand rankings this month. Tesla surpasses Dacia and Renault in the standings. This makes sense since the American giant sold 888,000 vehicles worldwide between January and June.
