Social Bonus and Leasing for the Hyundai Kona

Hyundai should not regret betting on Europe for the production of its SUV Kona. A locavore approach that opens up new horizons for it.

In its 100% electric version, assembled in the Czech Republic and equipped with LG cells produced in Poland, the Hyundai Kona has very logically managed to retain the electric bonus in 2024. In 2023, the SUV sold one in two units as fully electric.

This eligibility for the Eco Bonus is, of course, a breath of fresh air for a vehicle that faces serious competitors, Tesla Model Y or Renault Scenic E-Tech, to name the most vigorous. Its entry-level version, offered at 35,850 euros with the Eco Bonus deducted, places it as a direct competitor to its French rival, which starts at 34,990 euros. With such a small price difference, it can be considered a tie. Especially since, in terms of equipment, both are exactly the same: dual-zone climate control, rearview camera, electric mirrors, parking sensors, etc. Nothing but very standard features for a car at this price level. So, the decision will likely come down to style, and it must be acknowledged that the Korean stands out after its latest facelift.

But the current automotive market is evolving rapidly towards greater flexibility with long-term rental offers and the now-famous Social Leasing. The Kona can boast of being one of the few family vehicles with a large range (from 377 to 514 km in WLTP mixed cycle depending on the version) available through the government program “My Electric Leasing” starting at 95 euros/month. Thus, the model is available at 95 euros/month for its 48 kW version with a 377 km range and at 141 euros/month for its 65 kW version with a 514 km range. Two offers under LOA for 37 months / 37,000 km.
