New Hyundai Ioniq 5 starting at 44,800 euros in France
Although excluded from the ecological bonus due to its Asian production, the new Ioniq 5 is more affordable than ever.
In the wake of modernizing its cousin, the Kia EV6 officially launched a few days ago, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which shares the same electric platform, is also evolving. Aesthetically, the change is less obvious to an untrained eye. Nevertheless, one can observe the evolution of the headlights, wheels, front and rear bumpers, the new Ultimate Red Metallic paint, and, of course, the price.
The latter is in significant decline, dropping below the threshold of 47,000 euros, which might have suggested an effort to qualify for the ecological bonus. This is not the case. So Hyundai has decided to go even further by starting its range at 44,800 euros now. All this comes with a very rich standard equipment.

A significant technical evolution
But the other interest of this new Hyundai Ioniq 5 lies in its larger battery. The base version now offers 63 kWh for a power of 170 horsepower (125 kW) and a range of 440 kilometers in mixed cycle. This is an impressive performance considering the very cubic aerodynamic profile and the imposing dimensions of the Korean vehicle. Charging is allowed up to 156 kWh.
The 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 8.5 seconds and the power is delivered to the rear wheels.
If you prefer to opt for the large battery version of 84 kWh (515-570 km range), which is more generous than the previous one, you will then need to spend 48,880 euros (+4000 euros). The charging increases to 172 kWh.
Finally, do not lose sight that this is the “recommended” price of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, thus the maximum price at the dealership. It is up to you and your skills to negotiate a few thousand euros directly with the dealer.
