Surprise in the Constructor Village of the 24 Hours of Le Mans as BYD shares space with Alpine, Porsche, BMW, and Toyota!

Although to our knowledge it has never entered cars in competition, BYD has set up a small exhibition space in the Constructor Village of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2024. This is an opportunity for the Chinese brand to showcase its technologies and products in a highly prestigious setting.

BYD’s latest offering, the SEAL U DMi, is in the spotlight equipped with its famous Blade batteries, the in-house technology that has brought success and renown to the Chinese manufacturer. In this hybrid version of the Seal U, they enable the SUV to reach 1000 kilometers of range.

With 4 cars on static display and a testing center, all visitors to the 24 Hours of Le Mans have been given the opportunity to test the electric and hybrid vehicles in the BYD range.

It remains to be seen whether this presence is merely a commercial operation or the prelude to the brand’s commitment to competition. During its traditional pre-race press conference, the ACO, organizer of the 24 Hours, announced the upcoming arrival of several manufacturers. So… why not BYD?
