Mini Aceman Concept

On the occasion of a press-only event, Mini provided the first details about the Aceman, its upcoming small electric SUV.

The Aceman will support the electric versions of the Classic Mini (which will be renamed Cooper) and the Countryman. Unlike these two models, it will lack internal combustion or hybrid engines. Moreover, this will be the first time Mini offers only electric options on one of its cars.

The British press has already had the chance to see a prototype of the Aceman during a Mini-organized event. The first photos show a heavily camouflaged vehicle that appears to follow the design continuity of current Minis. The eponymous concept from 2022 (cover image) gives a fairly clear idea of the design choices made by the brand’s designers. In terms of dimensions, the new Aceman will be a few centimeters shorter than the Countryman, measuring about 4 meters in length. It will compete in the city SUV segment and will challenge models like the Jeep Avenger, which was recently awarded the title of Car of the Year.

Two available batteries

The Aceman will be built on a new platform developed by BMW and the Chinese Great Wall Motors. The range of powertrains is expected to mirror that of the city car. An E version with around 180 hp will coexist with an Aceman SE producing 215 hp. A more sporty John Cooper Works variant may arrive later. The more accessible Aceman versions will feature a 40 kWh battery. A second 54 kWh battery will also be offered and could provide nearly 400 km of range.

The Aceman will be manufactured in China, along with the upcoming Mini Cooper electric. It will be unveiled next year and will go on sale in 2025.
